P. Gillis was a 16th-century French naturalist whose works ranged from topographical to studies of Mediterranean fish. His most famous work was De Topographia Constantinopoleos, a topographical sketch of the city of Constantinople and Byzantine culture and politics. Published by Elzevier in Leiden, this 1632 first edition features the classic illustrated title page that Elzevier was known for. Complete.
