This is a very famous EL (ex Maximus, Zachariades) canc. “38” (type I) and “ΛΕΩΝΙΔΙΟΝ*15.ΜΑΡΤ.64” both in blue, red “ΔΕΠ” and “ΑΘΗΝΑΙ*18.ΜΑΡΤ.64” and “ΠΕΙΡΑΙΕΥΣ*18.ΜΑΡΤ.64” transit cds on reverse, arr “CONSTANTINOPLE TURQUIE*2.AVRIL.64”. The cover is franked with 10l. orange and 40l. mauve on blue (both coarse provisionals), the 40l. of a particularly interesting early extreme coarse printing (deriving from a marginal position).
