IA “Scipio” crash flight, cover franked with stamps from India, posted on 12.8.36, crashed at MIRABELLA BAY on 22.8.36 and the mail delivered either by the next IA flight or by rail via PARIS to LONDON where it was handstamped with “DAMAGED BY IMMERS IN SEA WATER I.S.” type i in black (SANFORD cat.), stuck stamp from another cover on the back. (Hellas CF19). Although a large part of the mail was salvaged, covers from India are rare.
