Contemporary marginalia and underlining. Label “United College, Bradford” on pastedown. Fine frontispiece and vignette on title page engraved by Michael Burghers. Copper engraved vignette & copper engraved initial on dedicatory page, wood engraved chapter ornaments.

Contemporary full calf with blind-stamped decorations on covers. Joints worn – upper part of front joint partly cracked –  heavily rubbed with small parts on edges chipped. Edges of first leaves chipped, heavy spotting of first leaves – occasional thereafter. Hinge partly cracked between pp.X & XI.
