Edward Gibbon (1737-1794), pioneer & expert on Byzantine history, wrote his work during almost twenty years. Publishing started in London in 1776 and finally printed in London 1788. This is his final work in First Folio edition. Gibbons Byzantine History is considered the first systematic presentation of the millennium of Byzantium.
