The author, an English physician, who served as medical officer with the Serbian army during the WWI, gives us a medical-human centered image of Balkan front. He was the first doctor on location to diagnose typhus, and he and the Serbian Army Medical Corps managed to contain it. A hardback volume in contemporary leather binding, except of slight foxing, fine pages inside. Quite scarce.
