B[odenehr G.] / cartographer - [ Gebaur, editor], “Vorstellung des alten und neven Athens von dem Venetiani… Coronelli”, [Halle 1747]. Fine, full-coloured, copper engraved map (37x22cm), of Athens. The map has been prepared by Gabriel Bonenehr the younger (1705-1792), a German engraver and mapmaker. This map of Athens, although clearly refers to Coronelli, is based on the Cappucins map of Athens of 1672, the first accurate drawing of the city. Bodenehr was based, most probably, in the reedition of Cappucin’s map by Coronelli. In this new German edition several new names and places had been added and the map had been published by Gebauer, in Halle in 1747. Framed. Not in Zacharakis. Very rare.
