Interior: occasional spotting, marginal water-stain on last sheets. Edward Browne (1644-1708) was a British physician, also interested in mining, botany, literature and theology. He lived in London and travelled around Europe to visit museums, churches and libraries (Italy, France, the Netherlands and Germany). He had reached a good knowledge of Greek and from 1668 to 1673, he undertook a travel through Germany, Hungary and the Balkans to Macedonia & Thessaly. His first-hand information act as a unique source of information for this region and especially Thessaly, including an impressive panoramic view of Larissa and a plate presenting The monastery of Panagia Olympiotissa at Elassona.
