A historical essay on the famous sages of Greek antiquity, The Seven Wise Men of Greece (c. 620-550), a title given to seven Greek ancient politicians, legislators or pre-Socratic philosophers. The Seven Sages were known for their practical wisdom and their memorable sayings and maxims. Period full leather binding, spine with titled gold nerves on parts, red speckled edges. Cover rather rubbed and bumped. Good condition inside, pretty banners, charming initial letter, fresh interior, last pages a little scorched, excluding table of contents not paginated. Good copy.
