The author successively paints the portrait of Aspasia of Miletus, the Greek hetaerae and the companion of Pericles, who won the respect of the great men of her time and acquired a great influence on Athenian politics. Title vignette, headbands and initials, colour marbled endpapers and red edges in period full leather binding; slightly bumped, sign of insect on front cover, spine adorned with fleuron motifs and red Morocco label with title in gilt. Clean and tight inside. Very Good copy.
