Beautiful edition by Henri Richer, a lawyer who gave up his career to become a poet in Paris. He would be considered one of the best fabulists of the 18th century. Full period brown leather, black spine label, spine lettered and decorated in gilt, red edges and marbled endpapers; some edgewear, spine a little dried but stabilized, visible chipping at the spine ends, good joints and corners rubbed. Firm text block inside, clean pages with some occasional light foxing. Ex libris sticker. A sound and attractive copy. Good.
