Missing the title page, 1-379, [1], 2 blac leaves. Including 6 copper engraved chapter engravings, designed by the French painter Charles-Nicolas Cochin and engraved by Benoit Louis Prevost. Inscriptions «C.N. Cochin filius del. 1745 “,” B.L. Prevost Sculp. 1765″.
Two 16th century plays, here printed in Paris in the mid 18 century, beautifully illustrated and bound together in a sigle volume. “Aminta” is a play written by Torquato Tasso in 1573, performed during a garden party at the court of Ferrara. Both the actors and the audience were noble people residing at the Court. “Il pastor fido” is a pastoral tragicomedy set in Arcadia by Giovanni Battista Guarini, first published in 1590 in Venice.
