According to the stamps & inscriptions on map, the map belonged and used by the French Military General Staff (cartographic service). The fact that Weiss’s map was the most accurate map of Peloponnesus during the French expedition in the Morea in 1829-1831, could suggest that it could be used as a base map by the French expedition staff. The map is in 4 uncut sheets jointed together and has signs of use probably in the field. Rare.
