Contemporary binding (half leather). Tears on 3 plates (self adhesive tape), 1 page & 1 plate with extended wear. Without spots or stains. Newton was a British archaeologist, served as vice-consul in Mitylene (1852) & as a consul in Rhodes (1853-1854).
