One of the 15 copies on Japan paper, No 13, with a manuscript dedication on the free leaf signed “A DUMAS”. 

First edition of Ch. Whittingham (Chiswick Press, founded in 1791 by Ch. Whittingham the older). Interesting foreward by the editor: “This edition is distinguished by a typographical attraction that no other book has, original and unexpected, it is the reprint of punctuation, hyphens and apostrophes”. Handritten signature by editor (“Louys Glady” 13) on last free leaf. Text in French, printed in blue and red.

Elegant signed (Ratharlier) full leather binding, with decorated back (5 nerves spine, golden fleurons and title in gilt), blind stamped lining covers and gilt cornered ornaments; gilt roulette on the interior signed cover, marbled endpapers, all edges in gilt. Vicaire V, 391.
