EL from Cefalonia to Corfu, with allegoric cachet “OFFICIO DELLA POSTA DI CEFALONIA” & scroll “CEFALONIA / 12 DECEMBRE 1834” (on back), arr. scroll “CORFU / 13 DECEMBRE 1834” and red manuscript “6” (pence) fee to be paid on arrival. The text (in Italian) starts with “I have received your letter, sent by the last ship” which means that the Austrian LLoyd was operating there in 1834! (TWO YEARS EARLIER THAN IT WAS BELIEVED AS OF TODAY).
