Second edition, the same as the first one printed by Aldine press in 1555 with the Scholia corrected. Edited by the Italian humanist Carlo Sigone (c. 1524-1584).
Contemporary vellum with title in gilt and framed in gilt on morocco red strip on spine.
Part of lower part of spine chipped, wear along edges, small insect holes on lower part of spine not affecting the interior of the book. 1/3 of the title page missing and replaced by hand-drawn facsimile. Marginalia on first numbered 25 leaves. Occasionally browning of some sheets. Hand-made design of Aldus’s device on verso of the Scholia title-page leaving traces to the obv.
