The Oratorian theologian and Orientalist Jean Morin have written various works on ecclesiastical history and antiquities. The current work includes the literary correspondence of Morin with Cardinal Barberini (and others) and contains valuable information along the Druze, Copt, and other local religious communities of the Orient. Written in Latin, it also includes parts in Greek Hebrew, Arabic and Syriac. Contemporary calf, extensive rubbing with spine and joints damaged. Ex-libris handwritten indications dated “1720” on pastedown and title page. Light and just occasional spotting inside, otherwise clean and mostly very fine.
