UNITED STATES OF IONIAN ISLANDS 1815-1864. 1835 EL from “Athens September 6th 1835”, via “Jonia”, “ANCONA” and “A.T” (Autriche transit),arr. London. In Ancona cancelled with boxed “Sanita in Ancona/Netto fiori e dentro”. Also has disinfection slits. The “Jonia” mark was applied at Trieston mail carried by Austrian ships. Many letterswere carried on Austrian ships, but very few have this mark.
