l’Archipel”, Paris 1854 / Corrige en 1863. Large (92x64cm) lithographed nautical chart of Southern Aegean Sea made by the chief cartographer of the French Navy in the middle of 19th century. This second edition includes also the lighthouses positions. This is an early very important example of the scientific cartography of the Aegean, a generation of charts destined for the steamers also. Miss-folded at the middle, repaired tear at the left, entering few cm in chart, spotting at edges, general wear. Overall in good condition for a chart heavily used in sea. Only three known copies in international institutions. Very Rare.
