Impressive full hand-coloured copper plate map of the region from the eastern Mediterranean to the Persian Gulf, including Cyprus, with a large inset map of the Holy Land (right part) and a smaller inset World map (on top) according to Ortelius. (Typus Orbis ad Investigandum Ophir.). Details include the pyramids in Egypt, the route of Abraham from Ur to Sichem, and the wandering of the Children of Israel. Few small wormholes on upper white margin, otherwise in Excellent condition. Map dim. 27.5x35cm, sheet dim. 57.5×49.5cm.
