The COMPLETE FIRST EDITION in 5 volumes including the ATLAS.

Including all the 31 numbered maps & plans. Anacharsis Atlas was the first comprehensive wide collection of maps for Greece of the 18th century, and the first reaching sufficient standards of accuracy. The first edition is scarce. The plates had been re-engraved in the following editions of 1789 and after.

Contemporary mottled calf, spines decorated in gilt, titles and vols numbers on red morocco strips. External rubbing and wear along joints and spines extremities. Thin paper on plate no.10, spot on plate no.17.
