Stunning silver print photograph 31.5 x 24 cm of Rhodes (Ρόδος), with handwritten title and SIGNATURE in pencil on lower right by the important American photographer Arnold Genthe. Photograph pasted on thick carton with photographer’s cachet on verso “From ARNOLD GENTE 41 EAST 49th STREET NEW YORK”. Genthe mastered portraiture, landscape, and architectural photography in a uniquely pictorialist style. The current photograph is coming from his 1930 travel to Greece, where among other places he also visited Rhodes Island.
