The life and work of the Ottoman politician and democrat Midhat Pasha, written by his son.  Midhat Pasha is famous for leading the Ottoman constitutional movement of 1876 and introducing the First Constitutional Era, which only lasted for two years before Abdul Hamid suspended it. The book is published the same year of the Young Turk Revolution break, that restored the Ottoman constitution of 1876 and is one of the preparatory works that promoted Young Turk Revolution movement in Europe. With a preface of the French politician J. L. Lanessan that had already published articles supporting this direction.
