In 16mo, p. 387+[3], 279+[7]. A beautiful book of a popular anthology of English poetry, originally selected for publication by Francis Turner Palgrave in 1861. It was considerably revised, with input from Tennyson, about three decades later. Palgrave excluded all poems by poets then still alive. Complete edition, including both the first and second series. In publishers blue clothed bound, with gold title and decoration over spine and front cover; slightly rubbed and bumped on corners.
