With date “Fevrier 1829” on page iv, indicating the second print run of this important Philhellenic poetical work dealing with the Greek Revolution of 1821 and initially published in Paris immediately after the Battle of Navarino. The first print run bearing the date “Janvier 1829”. Contemporary leather spine, thick paper covers, marbled edges. Two pre-owners handwritten notes about the edition dates in 1931, one pasted on front pastedown. Joints worn, hinge loose but still firm, spotting inside. Droulia 2614.

Προμετωπίδα με τίτλο “Clair de lune” του C. Cousin και ξυλόγραφο τυπογραφικό στοιχείο. Δεύτερο τράβηγμα της ποιητικής συλλογή του Victor Hugo που αναφέρεται αποκλειστικά στην Επανάσταση του 1821 και δημοσιεύεται στο Παρίσι αμέσως μετά τη ναυμαχία του Ναυαρίνου, στα πλαίσια της αλληλεγγύης του στο δοκιμαζόμενο ελληνικό λαό προβάλλοντας συνάμα το φιλελληνικό πνεύμα στην Ευρώπη. Το πρώτο τράβηγμα τυπώθηκε τον Ιανουάριο του ίδιου έτους. Προμετωπίδα με τίτλο “Clair de lune” του C.
