Includes thirty B/W photograph illustrations of the authors experiences in Serbia. Ruth S. Farnam served as an army nurse during WWI, and served as a soldier for the Serbian Army. She is the only known American woman to do so, and received three commendations from the Serbian King (Serbica Americana, Ruth Stanley Farnam). A beautiful copy of this autobiography, a fascinating tale of bravery and sacrifice from an American woman. Bound in royal blue cloth with lettering in gilt on the front board and spine. Minimum shelf wear, very good overall.
