Cover from Odessa to Chios, via Constantinople (both Ropit postmarks), fr. with 7+3kop Russian stamps canc. oval “POΠΗΤ ΠAP. KOPHNΛOBb*20.NOE.1910” (steamer Kornilov). Kornilov, being built in Newcastle in 1869, was one of the older vessels of the Ropit fleet, a post-passenger boat of 2330 tons, based in Odessa and operating in the Levant and eastern Mediterranean. Two such covers recorded, one from Salonika to Mt Athos and this one. Very rare.
