The letter was overcharged with double rate. The English post office recognize that it was overrated and forwarded it to Athens without charging it. The post office of Athens forwarded it to Rome by charging the proper standard rate of 25 lepta. The Italian post office as it doesn’t bear any address in Italy didn’t keep it and send it immediately back to London without tax, considering that they only intervened between Athens and London. Very fine and very interesting and rare postal history document. (Hellas 77a).
