GRAECIA (Sophiani) – Coloured copper engraved map of Greece, with the Greek Islands, Crete, Asia Minor and the Aegean Sea. Originally cartographed by Ortelius. Original outline colour, verso blank. Interesting decorative title cartouche. The original plate seems to have passed through a number of hands, the practice of plagiarizing prints or maps being common in the seventeenth century. Ca. 1720, unknown editor. Size: 20×16 cm.
