Scarce copper plate, presenting the Venetian Candia (Ηράκλειο) – Crete under siege by the ottoman troops during the 5th Ottoman–Venetian War. The town fortifications, the main defensive structures as well the position of the ottoman troops, navy and artillery are presented in high details and indicated on extended key on lower left corner. Engr dim. 42x32cm. Three small worm-holes, otherwise in extremely fine condition. Framed.
