SCHIFFER Carl. c.1860. Two albumen photographs (21x18cm) on single carton depicting Temple of Jupiter & Erechtheion. One SIGNED IN NEGATIVE “C. Schiffer”. Carl Schiffer was a Bavarian photographer, who worked in Athens for a limited period between 1859-1861. His photographs are rarely found. The current example is one of the few existing signed in negative by the photographer. Tear on photo (~3cm). RRR
