Separately printed lithographed map (54x42cm) of Northern Modern Greece, including all Macedonia, Thessaly, Epirus and part of Albania. Based on French military maps. Folded in linen. Fine condition. Published by Lapie in 1827, a critical year of the Greek Revolution. As the eventuality of a modern Greek State became apparent, this map represents one of the first efforts to establish a broad geographic frame for the new Greek state, including vast areas of the Balkans under the notion of Northern Modern Greece.
