A fascinating and monumental work by Ferrario which contains over numerous coper engravings mostly hand-coloured at the time that illustrate views, customs, geographical maps, ethnographic aspects and the arts around the world. Published for the first time in 1816-1826 in Milan, it was then reprinted in Florence by Batelli (1823-1838 and again in 1840-41) and Celli & Ricci (1830-1843).
3 Tomes for Greece; it also contains tomes for Spain, Portugal, Germany. With 15 plates engraved in copper (mostly hand-coloured), 2 big folding genealogical tables (Vol. I). Original paper covers, visibly worn (rubbed, scattered dirt and oxidation); untrimmed pages inside, foxing throughout, along with some loose parts in binding.
