Aubin Louis Eleuthérophile Millin de Grandmaison was a French naturalist and librarian, scholar in several fields, including archeology and the history of medieval and classical art. After spending one year in jail (1793, for completing a study on vandalized churches and monasteries in France!), he was hired to teach art history at the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris, where he also served as the Keeper of the Department of Antiquities. He also wrote several articles about Greek vases. Original paper covers, some external wear, foxing throughout. Rare.
