In the text, characterized by dynamism, a brief history of Greece is presented, leading to the contemporary events and the break of the 1897 War between Greece and Turkey, clearly supporting Greece.  The Italian Government, following other European powers did not openly supported Greece at the eve of this war. Expressing the broad disapproval to this decision, in Italy there were organized demonstrations and events, like the current conference. Finally, 2000 Italian volunteers, under Ricciotti Garibaldi, fought with the Greeks on May 17 in Domokos in Thessaly. Rare.
