GALIBERT Leon, “LALGERIE Αncienne et Μodern“, Furne et Cie, Paris. 1844. Volume No II (out of 2), First Edition, in 8vo (18x27cm), p. 251-637,[3] + big folding coloured map of Algeria. Illustrated with 21 steel engravings after the Rouargue brothers (views, animated historical scenes) and 12 hand-coloured and gummed wooden military costume plates, as well as numerous in-text woodcuts. A folding map in colour with the plan of the main cities. The work had been published for the first time in 1844, it was continued until the year 1854.

Binding of the period, half brown leather (spine and corners), marbled carton boars, visibly worn; spine with title and art nouveau decoration in gilt, rubbed on edges; cracked hinges, bumped corners and extremities. Scattered foxing and spotting inside, but tight binding; fresh engravings with protection tissues.
