First separate edition of “Voyage dAthènes” by Charles Maurras which had already appeared in 1901 in the book “Anthinéa: from Athens to Florence” with other texts. Charles Maurras had written this book, following notes taken during the first Olympic Games of the modern era in Athens in April 1896. It was Gustave Janicot, director of the Gazette de France, who had asked him to go there. At that time, Charles Maurras was only 28 years old.Copy under binding signed Stroobants nicely executed in navy blue half morocco with corners; back to nerves, title and author with golden irons. Slight external wear. With original paper covers preserved, printed in red and black; marbled end papers, untrimmed, clean and very tight, fresh interior with light foxing. Very Good copy.
