Copper engraved map of Paros island, one of the first maps of Greek areas issued based in triangulation measurements, made on the spot by Kauffer during Choiseul’s voyage at the Aegean. Choiseul Gouffier along with Kauffer, a skilled cartographer of the “Ponts et Chaussees”, visited Paros in early 1776. Very Fine condition. Zacharakis 940.
