Grasset de Saint-Sauveur has lived in the Ionian Islands between 1781 to 1798 acting as a commissioner for commercial relations for Napoleon. This work is very important, providing detailed descriptions of the Ionian islands shortly after their acquisition by the French. 

Contemporary half calf, spine ornamented in gilt. External rubbing along edges, corners and joints. Internal spotting. Ex-libris “Βιβλιοθήκη Σπ. Λοβέρδου” in gilt on pastedowns.
