Translation in German of the pioneering research of the Balkans. The research was conducted by the famous French Geologist Ami Boué that has travelled extensively in the Balkans in the late 1830s. His observations regarging Balkans geography, geology, natural history, statistics, customs, archaeology, agriculture, industry, commercereligion and history were first published in Paris in 1840 (Atabey 141).
