For all these years we have been at the forefront of the captivating hobby that is philately, supplying collectors world wide with the philatelic products and services they need. We have held hundreds of successful public auctions and been privileged to handle many famous collections.

Our auctions feature the stamps and postal history of Greece and the countries around Greece thematic philately picture postcards, coins and banknotes. In the last years we have invested in cartographic and photographic collectible material, presenting regular auctions featuring rare maps and rare photographic material, focusing in the geographical region of Greece, Balkans, Turkey and Eastern Mediterranean. This way A.Karamitsos is established as the only auction house in South-eastern Mediterranean focusing on these specific collectible fields, attracting a growing audience in these fields.

Our recent specialized auctions included Olympics, Large Hermes Heads, Overprints in Large and Small Hermes Heads, Samos island, Mt. Athos, Cancellations of Type V of New Territories, Cancellations Type I-VI, Ionian Islands, former Yugoslavia, and many more.

We are major buyers of fine specialised and single country collections as well as large, general collections, accumulations and dealers' stocks and we welcome offers of individual, rare items in good condition, including old letters bearing early stamps and pre-stamp mail, rare and scarce airmail covers and are always looking to add to our stocks of these items.

We pay very attractive cash prices as we have a large clientele for all the above.

Alternatively ,material can be sold on consignment. Our team of specialists is available to give advice regarding the best method of sale to suit individual client's needs and achieve maximum realisation. It is in our interest as well as yours to obtain the highest price possible for the sale of your collection. At A.Karamitsos we examine carefully each individual item, make lots and describe them precisely. Starting prices are agreed with you before the lots are placed on sale. A detailed account is sent to you within 35 days of the sale of the last lot you have placed on sale with us. Payment will then be made to your bank account, or by foreign draft.
