Illustrations engraved by Sargent and others after Anastasi and Darley. There are 18 different books in Hezekiah Butterworths popular Zigzag Series, published in several formats. This copy in the publishers brightly chromolithographic paper-covered boards, designed in the popular "bulletin board" style of the period. Medium wear to the extremities of the boards and spine, but overall a very nice example of this fragile binding. Owners stamp on the first blank leaf. With pictorial zigzag map endpapers. Binding rather loose inside, text clean, light even toning. Moderate handling wear. Good copy.
