SWITZERLAND. Basel. Circa 1720. Doppeltaler (Silver, 51 mm, 57.38 g, 12 h), by the engraver Justin de Beyer (IDB), Struck around 1720. IDE Winged basilisk flying to left, bearing the arms of Basel; all within a circle of pearls surrounded by a circle of the eight shields bearing the arms of the Vogtei. Rev. DOMINE · CONSERVA · NOS · IN · PACE / BASILEA City view with seven ships on the Rhein. Divo/Tobler 737a. HMZ 2-98a. Winterstein 13. Beautifully toned. Good extremely fine.
