Original soft paper boards, a very good copy. Etienne Kakasch de Zalonkemeny was an imperial diplomatic envoy to the Persian court. Zalonkemeny travelled through Russia, the Caucasus and Armenia to Persia during his mission to conclude an alliance with the Ottoman Empire. The account was written by his secretary Tectander von der Jabel. His travel account to Russia and the Armenian regions under Persian rule of the early 17th century are precious. This account remained manuscript up to its discovery in the late 19th century by the famous orientalist Schefer who published it. RARE.
