JFirst French edition (following the St Petersbourg edition of 1801) of this voyage of the Russian embassy of 1793 (which ratified the treaty of Iassi), from Petersbourg to Iasi, through the Crimean peninsula, finally reaching the Ottoman Constantinople. The detailed description of Constantinople occupy 4 of the 7 in total chapters of the book. Johann Christoph Gustav von Struve was a German diplomat. In 1782 he was employed at the Russian Embassy in Warsaw where he worked for eight years under Count Stackelberg. Stuve was also a signer to the Treaty of Paris of 1814. Original paper boards.
