Keller W./ Depot Generale De La Marine, “Carte Generale de la Mer Mediterranee 2eme Feuille dressée daprès les travaux les plus récents par Mr. Keller…”, Paris, 1851 with corrections until 1868 (second edition, enriched with addition of lighthouses positions). Impressive nautical chart (92x63cm) of all Greek Seas (Ionian, Aegean, Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea). Includes 15 more particular charts of the principal ports of the area, including very early nautical charts of Piraeus and Siros as well as Corfou, Odessa, Burgas, Rhodes, Smyrna, Constantinople, Port Said, Sevastopol, Beirut, Alexandria etc (different sizes). An important early example of a new generation of nautical charts focusing on the needs of steamers. As steamers have been established those years in the area, the shipping needs had shifted to general charts with all available lighthouse positions and detailed descriptions of the main ports. Two small marginal tears, otherwise fine condition. Only two copies tracked in world libraries. RARE.
