Franz-Valéry-Marie Cumont was a Belgian archaeologist and historian, a philologist & epigraphist. Along with his brother Eugene they have undertaken an archaeological investigation of Pontus, Armenia & Syria in 1900, gathering rich epigraphic, geographic, photographic material.
