Extended archive of ~300 documents about steamboat "BORIS" owned by the Société Commericale de Maritime Vlasov, Syra, Greece. The ship was traveling towards Japan, when was stopped in Canada for one year because of the WWII. Under the demand of the British naval forces, it was moved to Seattle USA where was requisitioned. The ship took active part in the WWII and finally was sunk by the German submarine U180, on 3 June 1943, west of Ascension Island (Atlantic Ocean). A book about these incidents has been written by the rescued Captain of “Boris” (“Ο τορπιλισμός του φορτηγού ατμόπλοιου ΒΟΡΙΣ”, Μωραΐτης Γιαννούλης). The archive contains correspondence documents, original telegrams, official documents, checks, lists of cargo info & ship’s logs, dating from 1940 to 1954.
