MOLL H., "Geographia Classica: The Geography of the Ancients…”, London, Browne, 1727. 8vo (19x15cm), pp.iv,[2] + 28 copper engraved maps (the map 25, spiritual geography, never printed in this edition). All double page maps (26x18cm) or folded, clean with sharp impression. Mostly Greek interest maps (Zacharakis 2307-2319). Herman Moll (1654-1732) was a famous English cartographer and geographer. His Geographia Classica, first printed in 1712, remained the basic geography throughout the 18th century. This is the last edition published during author’s life and from the original copper plates. A classical 18th century Atlas. Minor tear in the fold of a folded map without loss. Contemporary boards rubbed, spine defect. Overall a very good copy.
